The Hills are alive with the Sound of Music!
Stowe has a long tradition with the musical arts, including being home to the world renowned Trapp Family singers, made famous in the movie "Sound of Music". In continuance with that tradition, the members of the Stowe community are proud to be home to the Stowe Preforming Arts and the Mozart Festival.
Stowe Preforming Arts
The Stowe Preforming Arts, is a non-profit organization that produces world class musical events with world renowned artists, and Vermont's spectacular mountain vistas providing the backdrop.
There's nothing like enjoying delicious food, great wine, a pristine meadow, and topnotch musicians to complete a wonderful evening for the senses.
The Stowe Preforming Arts concerts are held on Sunday evenings each summer as part of the "Music in the Meadow" series. This is truly the time when the hills come alive with music. Bring along a blanket, picnic and relax under the stars to the sounds of music in the Green Mountains.
Productions for 2008 include The Vermont Symphony Orchestra, Kathy Mattea, I Musici de Montreal and the U.S. Airforce Band of Liberty.
The Mozart Festival
Stowe is also host to the Mozart Festival, a high quality production of classical music concerts held throughout the entire year, in different Vermont venues such as the Trapp Meadow, located only 5 minutes from the inn .
Preformances for 2008 include the Vermont Mozart Festival Orchestra, Sharon Isbin, the New Hollywood String Quartet, and Anton Kuerti.
