Arbortrek Canopy Adventures

Get ready to soar through the forests and explore the wilds of the Green Mountains of Vermont as you ride up to 4,500 feet of zip lines, cross sky bridges high above the forest floor, and rappel from trees. Nestled in a scenic valley below Smugglers Notch, the zip line canopy tour is designed to provide access to reaches of the forest canopy and views of the area otherwise not available to hikers and explorers. See Vermont from above.

Enjoy a spectacular flight through the Champlain Valley with views of magnificent Mt. Mansfield, Camel's Hump and Lake Champlain, all at the same time!

Biking from the Inn

Guests of the inn have direct access to Stowe’s 5.3 mile (8.5 km) award winning paved recreation path. The path starts at the inn, winds its way through forests and meadows, crosses the West Branch River 11 times on arched wooden bridges, and eventually ends at the Stowe Village, with easy access to Main St. Along the way are numerous shops, lodges, and restaurants all most accessible from the path.

Canoeing & Kayaking

There is no better way to see Vermont's breathtaking landscape than from a canoe or kayak. Before a road system was developed in our area, the Native Americans used the rivers as a major mode of transportation. You, too can experience the freedom and beauty that they did, as you paddle downstream on the Lamoille and Winooski Rivers.

Carriage & Wagon Rides

Conveniently located next door-Gentle Giants Carriage & Wagon Rides feature scenic carriage, sleigh and wagons rides for couples to groups.

Culture and the Arts

Stowe is a wonderfully eclectic village that is home to a thriving arts community and exciting cultural happenings. Gifted artists are inspired by this natural splendor. They, in turn, enrich Stowe with cultural and artistic sophistication more typical of large cities.

Dog Carting

Dog drawn cart tours and scooter trail runs are available throughout the summer. Peacepups will set you up with a scooter, helmet, your very own Peace Pup and guide you down one of our local trails. Available in the morning or evening. PeacePupsDogSledding.com, 802.888.7733.

Vermont is known for delicious maple syrup, award winning cheddar cheese, awesome ice cream, fresh pressed apple cider, chocolates, and teddy bears. Factory Tours and tastings at these well known manufacturers are always great fun.

Fishing

From the Inn

The West Branch is the primary stream that flows from the base of Mt. Mansfield , passing by the inn, and leading to the Village of Stowe. Excellent for fly-fishing, the stream is home to beautiful rainbow and healthy brook trout. The stream is stocked annually by the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department, and is easily accessible from all points. Great for the novice and expert fisherman alike, the stream provides flat as well as rough water conditions. Licenses may be purchased at the Fly Rod Shop here in Stowe. Also, the inn has a available on premise a few fishing poles for young anglers wanting to try out fishing at our beautiful streamside park.
